Welcome to the final recipe in our Hangover Helper series. Today, I’m sharing ‘The Rehydrator’ – a juice that’s all about getting you back on your feet after a night out.
While our Detox Boost and Morning Revival juices were great, this Rehydrator might just be my favorite of the Hangover Helper series – it’s the perfect balance of refreshing and revitalizing.
If you’re planning to celebrate this weekend, grab these ingredients before you go. That way, you’ll be ready to make this juice if you wake up feeling less than great.
Remember, the best way to avoid a hangover is to drink less. But if you need a little help, The Rehydrator might be just what you need!
Let’s make this juice!
Ingredients
- 500g watermelon
- 200ml coconut water (or regular water as an alternative)
- 20g fresh ginger (about a 2.5cm piece)
- 50g spinach
- 1/2 lemon (about 30ml)
Procedure
- Wash all your ingredients well.
- Cut the watermelon into pieces that fit your juicer.
- Peel the lemon, leaving some of the white pith for extra nutrients.
- Juice the watermelon, ginger, spinach, and lemon together.
- Add the coconut water and stir well.
Why these ingredients?
Watermelon
Watermelon is primarily composed of water (about 92%) and is known for its hydrating properties. It also contains L-citrulline, an amino acid that may help reduce headaches which can be helpful after drinking alcohol.
Ginger
Ginger has long been recognized for its effectiveness in alleviating hangover symptoms, particularly due to its anti-nausea properties. Studies suggest that ginger can help reduce nausea and promote better digestion, making it a beneficial remedy after excessive alcohol consumption.
Additionally, its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects may aid in reducing the oxidative stress caused by alcohol, further supporting recovery from hangovers
Spinach
Drinking can lower your B vitamins and magnesium levels. Spinach is packed with these nutrients, helping to replenish what you’ve lost.
Lemon
Lemons are high in vitamin C, which your body needs more of when you’ve been drinking. The citrus kick might also help wake you up!
Coconut water
This natural electrolyte drink helps replace minerals lost during drinking. It’s also great for hydration.
Taste
Here’s the revised text with “hangover cure” incorporated naturally:
Don’t let the dark color fool you – this hangover cure juice is surprisingly delicious! The spinach gives it a deep green hue, but the taste is far from what you might expect. The lemon and ginger really shine through, adding a refreshing kick that wakes up your taste buds.
If you’re not a big fan of ginger’s spicy bite, feel free to use a bit less. But for me, the balance was just right. The ginger adds a warmth that complements the cool watermelon perfectly.
I have to admit, when I first saw the color, I was a bit skeptical. But from the first sip, I was completely won over. The flavors blend together beautifully, creating a drink that’s both refreshing and invigorating. It’s a perfect example of why you shouldn’t judge a juice by its color!
This Rehydrator really proves that a hangover cure can be both healthy and tasty. It’s a great reminder that sometimes the most unexpected combinations can result in the most delightful surprises.

Your Comments
Good taste
The color was a bit wierd, but the taste is really good.
